Trying to get a few more photos out to you all… There is so much here to photograph, but I’m also balancing my time with kids and other projects. The trumparchive.com website is coming along. Will soon be enlisting volunteers to help with data collection and curation.
First, a few sounds I’ve collected…
- A woman calling her kids home for dinner (and her kids reply from across the field). –
- Sounds from Kunming zoo –
- Sounds from Green Lake Park in Kunming –
My chicken photograph collection is growing…
This is a shot from just a few minutes walk from where we’re staying. You have to be somewhat brave to venture out far into the fields as the mound of dirt between water is very narrow and the field is vast.
The villages here are bustling with activity from pre-dawn to dark. Seems every building is in construction at once.
Lot’s of interesting trash – but I try not to spend too much time photographing it for fear of what the locals would think.
There are varying responses to seeing a white man walking the streets. Some, like this girl, run screaming through the streets.
We woke up before dawn today and made a trek up the hill to see the sunrise. When you catch the light just right, the rice paddies look like snow, sky, ocean, or just mud. All depends on the angle and light.
A few street photos of another variety. The plastic gun is not as popular as the frying pan for kids.
After Kai recently purchased a couple pet turtles and we spent the better part of two weeks figuring out how to make them happy in an aquarium… we were apparently overthinking it.
Our accomodations were upgraded to a high end marble and wood palace with glass wall overlooking the fields.
